This month I was lucky enough to win one of the Art Jewelery Elements component of the month. I received the red one on the left, but I was too excited to take my own photo 🙂

Bursting Seed Pods by Lesley Watts
I made some polymer clay beads in colours to match and used my new secret weapon – tiny matte peanut beads with some green beads for contrast. Amazingly the colours fit perfectly with the Art Bead Scene challenge this month even though I purposely did not look at the inspiration painting untill I had finished this necklace.
The necklace is a bit longer than normal so I struggled with taking pictures. I went alfresco for some more photographs.
And now have a look at what the other seed pods became when they grew up.

That’s a great necklace Cate – I love how you matched your beads to the pod so well and I’m with you on the peanut beads – I love them. Thank you for taking part and rising to the challenge so well :0)
Thanks, I was pleased at how well the beads matched. It was a pleasure to take part.

Love the colour of the pod matched with the polymer beads – it’s a lovely shade. Great necklace!
Thanks. All the pods were lovely colours.
That’s gorgeous… your polymer beads match the pod perfectly!
Thanks, yes they were made for eachother 😉
You did a perfect job with your beads, they complement the texture and color of the pod so well. I do love this design, this would definitely be worn often in my house!
Thanks. I’ve already had to wrest it back from family members.
As everybody else has said it’s amazing how those beads match the cap, not only in color but the pattern as well. I love the contrasting beads in between, the whole necklace is just lovely!
Thanks. I knew exactly what kind of beads I wanted to make when I saw the seed pod.

This is a very graceful and pretty necklace. I love the cascading effect in the front. As for the peanut beads–I love them and can’t get enough of them!!!
Your colors and the teardrop design are a perfect fit for the cap! Stellar combo.
Thanks 🙂
That is just beautiful Miss Cate! I love the the shape of this pod cap. So elegant. And the beads are a perfect match to it! Well done! Enjoy the day. Erin
Your polymer beads are a perfect complement to the pod! I think making beads to match another artist’s component is so much fun! Lovely design!
