Hang on to your jingle bells, it’s the ABS Ornament Blog Hop! Here’s my polymer clay hollow puff star ornament.
I made two puffed star shapes (along the lines of the hollow doughnut but without the backing), and stuck them together with a piece of wire inside. Then I added a bead and a wrapped loop. I also used gilding wax in various shades of red to highlight the bumps and a coat of gold acrylic paint (wiped off) to fill the gaps.
But wait, there’s more! Get yourself a cup of chai and a mince pie and see all the other lovelies in the hop.
Wishing you peace and happiness.
Beautiful, Cate… the amazing texture reminds me of tapestry. Your works are always so wonderfully finished!
Thanks 🙂
I really love your ornament – so festive and you made it nice and light too. Happy Holidays.
The technique is interesting and the colors are wonderful for the holidays!
Oh wow – a hollow one! Beautiful work, my dear!
Wow this is stunning, thank you for sharing your work
Your star is wonderful. Will there be a tutorial to teach us how it’s done?
I’ll try, but it may only be ready for next Christmas. The Elves were not impressed when I asked – they tell me they are far too busy at the moment 🙂
Those puffy stars are delightful- love the texture! Great ornaments.
Wow! I’m so impressed by the fact that this is hollow! I just started working with polymer a tiny bit in the past year, such fun. As Monique said, it reminds me of tapestry!
A *hollow* polymer clay star?! How amazing! How very talented you are 🙂 Happy Chritsmas!
Looks delicious!
I love the star!
What a lovely decoration and great texture!
This is beautiful!! I’ve yet to delve into poly clay, but am more and more intrigued with the possibilities. Christie/Charis Designs Jewelry
