Here is a proper look at the polymer clay bead earrings I made as Christmas gifts this year…
I made a pair of earrings to go with one of the first necklaces I made back in 2009 (dodgy photo is from then too!).
Next I made a pair of earrings to go with the necklace I made for the May ABS Challenge.
Finally I was commissioned to make a pair of earrings like my phoenix charms but with a black background. The front of the earring features a feather and the back has the phoenix.
The lucky person who received the necklace must be so happy. It is so pretty. I love how you put it together. How did you string it? I don’t see any crimp beads.
You are right, there are no crimp beads. It is strung with beading thread. I string it once, and then go back through the beads (via the toggle loop) so the two ends of the thread meet. Then I tie it with a surgeons knot and add a drop of glue.
Great idea. Thanks for the info. It must have a better feel to it than using wire and give more possibilities on finishing.
Yes, I like the drape it gives and there is no danger of kinks.
