I was inspired to make a pair of glow-in-the-dark mood bead earrings by the Earrings Everyday April challenge.

The thing which struck me from this photo was the dynamic quality of the light, so I included the mood beads which change colour. I made the beads on the bottom from polymer clay and the “white” veins glow in the dark. These beads convey the glow from windows. The central beads feature the colours of the photo and the patterns are mirrored like the reflections on the water. And the pink cotton cord… well that connects the beads to the ear-wires 😉
Here’s a close up where I’ve changed the colour of one of the mood beads by warming it in my hand.
You can find these earrings in my Etsy shop.
What a great idea! I have never seen such beads before. Fun and flirty are the words that spring to mind!! xx
WHOA! That is so darn awesome! I love that they light up. You are one clever girl. Thanks for playing along in the We’re All Ears challenge. Check back on May 1st for the next inspiration! Enjoy the day. Erin
Very cool beads! I love their glow!
How totally deep and INTERESTING. Bravo!
Very creative and lovely too! What fun they light up.
What a great interpretation. I like that you played with both the patterns on the beads and the night time glow. Your earrings make the concept of glow in the dark polymer clay make sense to me. Thanks!
Very creative interpretation of spotlighting the glow of the light. Fascinating how those splashes show up in the dark. Very cool!!! I’m amazed that your photos in the dark turned out so well.
I took many, many photos until I got something that worked 😀
