I have been working hard on making some new sheepy items for Sedbergh Sheepfest on 17th and 18th September. This year I decided to stick to a palette of black and white. Here’s a sample of what I made:

I also made a few pairs of earrings using the cross stitch sheep cane I made previously.

Of course working in black and white, I couldn’t resist making a few Op Art inspired pairs of earrings.

And an obligitory kaleidoscope cane.

These, and more, are now available at the Craftworkshop in Sedbergh. And if you are in the area on the 16th and 17th, the festival is good fun too.

This week I decided to have another go at making a yarn bowl to learn from some of the problems I had last week. Last time I made a green bowl to co-ordinate with my yarn so this time I made a monochrome one using black, white and grey polymer clay so it will go with any colour yarn.

No cracks this week, but I forgot to take a photograph of the inside. It’s pretty much the same as last week.

This time I cut the holes opposite the curl for structural strength.

I got a little bit carried away decorating the underside of the bowl since most of the time it’s not visible.

I think this coming week I need to think of a less time-consuming project for my 2016 Polymer Clay Challenge since this one is pretty late. I’ll be posting this to my Flickr group.

**Edit – entries now closed**

In my previous post I asked you to vote on what prize you’d want for a giveaway. Believe it or not, these items are all related. I started off with the silly joke “What’s black and white and red all over?” *

So without futher ado here are the contestants…

In third place was “Pendant”.

In second place was “Beads”.
nugget beads

Which means “Earrings” got the most votes and will be the giveaway prize.

I’ve used my handmade polymer clay beads and red crystals on black coated copper wire. The ear-wires are black niobium so they are hypo-allergenic.

Leave a comment here to win. Leave another comment if you ‘Like’ my facebook page. I’ll choose a random winner from all comments left before midnight (GMT) 20 November 2013. (International folks welcome.)

I’ll try to announce the winner next Friday. Good luck 🙂

* What is black and white and read all over? A newspaper.
